CLASS ACTIONS

Traber & Voorhees is currently class counsel in the following class action cases:

Veliz, et. al. v. Cintas Corp. (Case No. C03-1180), a national class action brought by driver-employees for violations of wage and hour laws. To find out more information about this case, please go to http://www.cintasovertime.com.

Burdick v. Union Security Ins. Co. et al.. (Case No. CV 07-4028) is a class action brought on behalf of individuals in California who purchased a long term disability conversion policy from Union Security (d/b/a Assurant Employee Benefits), from April 30, 2003 to the present. The lawsuit asserts that the policy provisions stating that any Social Security Disability Income available to the insured is deducted from the insured's benefits are unlawfully inconspicuous, ambiguous and in violation of California's unfair competition and false advertising laws. Read order granting class certification of this case. Read later summary judgment order finding that the offset provisions are inconspicuous. Read subsequent order decertifying certain class claims, among other things.

Class members and potential class members may want to return to this page periodically, as Traber & Voorhees will post class notices and/or claim forms on this site to the extent they are available.
